  Born in Sichuan. Graduated from the Chinese Painting department of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1987, obtained MA degree. He is the professor and the director of the Chinese painting department in the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. His work had been edit in the 《20 Chinese oil painting artists》in 2004. his works “Red”、“Yellow” had been collected for “the Second Sichuan Fine Arts Institute- Tutor’s Exhibition” in 2002. His works has been published in lots of art magazines in 1997. 1992, he won the excellent prize of “Maple-leaf international art exhibition” in Canada.(Lot 181)。
  His works once joined in the Eighth and the ninth National Fine Art Works Exhibition。Winning Merit Award at Eighth National Fine Art Works Exhibition，obtained the Huangbinhong- Jin Xin prize ，wining Art Award at Grand Exhibition of Chinese Mini Oil Painting Works and so on。Held Personal Exhibition of Painting in Chongqing，Chengdu and Beijin，so attended joint exhibition。 His works were published in Art Observation、Jiangsu Art、People pictorial 、contemporary artist、daily Guangming Ribao。 Published Works：“lower? Not Flower? Painting Works by Liu Mingxiao”， “Ten Artists in Contemporary Chinese Painting – Liu Mingxiao”。
